HYGIENISTS
PAULINE HAMPTON. CEB Cert in Dental Hygiene (1979). GDC 1840
I qualified as a dental nurse in 1977 and then as a hygienist in 1979. I gained a Diploma in Dental Health Education in 1983 and in the same year joined Heathwood Dental Practice. My role as a hygienist has changed and grown over the years – from working part-time to fit in with my husband and two daughters, to gaining additional training to keep abreast of new ideas, materials and procedures.
I have really enjoyed being a member of the Heathwood Dental team for the last 35+ years and hope this continues for many years to come. I love meeting and working with people – it’s the best part of the job.
EMILY PORTER. BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene & Dental Therapy (2021). GDC 297242
Emily qualified as a Dental Hygienist Therapist in 2021 from the University of Portsmouth’s Dental Academy. She is known for her warm and patient chair side manner, excelling in conducting thorough yet gentle dental cleanings.
Emily takes pride in creating a comfortable environment for all her patients and consequently completed an Acupuncture course to help compliment her dental treatments with gag reflex suppression and relaxation techniques that acupuncture therapy can provide. This commitment to ongoing learning ensures that she is equipped to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients and will get everyone looking forward to their next hygiene appointment.
